STATE CLIMB: Who We Are
State Climb is one of only a few nonprofit climbing gyms in the country. We’re working to ensure everyone has access to the sport and all of the social, emotional, and mental health benefits that come along with being a part of the greater climbing community.
Our mission: To promote social, mental, and emotional health through physical activity and community engagement.
Our Vision: We serve the local community 7 days a week, 360+ days a year by providing safe, fun, and high quality climbing experiences, and by providing an equitable, accessible, safe space for everyone to recreate and foster a stronger sense of self within the community.
We offer low or no-cost programming to local school systems, as well as offer Pay What You Like access to our youth teams, leagues, and summer programs.
Pay What You Like (PWYL)
Since 2021, State Climb has pioneered a few different iterations of a gym model that prioritizes economic accessibility. We’ve adapted to fit our community’s needs along the way, and through that experience we have learned how best to serve our community. We now implement PWYL in the following way:
At this time, nearly 1/3 of our campers, team participants, and league participants are booked through our PWYL program. PWYL enrollment is offered alongside normal enrollment for each of the programs in the form of an additional question added after the price.
“Does this price not work for you? If it does not, Click here to tell us how much you’d like to pay.”
We do not exclude participants based on any eligibility requirements. If you ask for help, and if we are able to give it, we will help you.
Check out our Community Report to see what we accomplished last year, and make a donation to help us do more!
In October of 2025 State Climb hosted a Region 81 Youth Qualifying Event for USA Climbing.
