IT’S TIME TO DOUBLE DOWN
We had a rest year, but we’re back and we’re hitting it hard with a DOUBLE Crusher for 2025. That means twice as many boulders, twice as much terrain, and twice the time to knock down as many boulders as you can. Here are the deets:
Sessions are 2 hours each. Competitors may not enter the climbing area before their time-slot. Once you’ve climbed your session, you’re more than welcome to hang around and watch later sessions!
We will set 100 boulders. The difficulty of the boulders will range from V0-V10ish, but no indication of the grade will be given and the number of each boulder will have no correlation to its difficulty. Competitors will be given a scorecard (and a pen) at the beginning of their session with boulders 1-100 listed on it. Each competitor is required to have a witness for their sends, and the witness will indicate that they saw you climb the boulder by putting their initials next to that boulder number on your scorecard. Competitors are encouraged to climb as many boulders as they can, and will receive points for every send.
SCORING: Every boulder starts out with a value of 100 points that gets divided by the number of climbers who send it throughout the day. For example, if you are the ONLY person to send a boulder, you get all 100 points! If you and another person send it, you each get 50 points. If 50 people climb the same boulder, all 50 climbers will receive 2 points. Think hungry hungry hippos… GO EAT THOSE BOULDERS!!
PRIZES
TBD, but… they will be cool and likely inexpensive.
Food and beverages and a giant community session on the comp set will follow immediately after the last session, and winners will be announced at 6:30. We’ll crown both the crusher AND a youth crusher (U16) this year, so two champions will be crowned, plus a handful of surely honorable mentions.
